In this portion of my Free Inquiry Project I will give and in-depth exploration on fishing equipment. It is important to know the difference between fishing rods, then we will move on to how a fishing reel works, and lastly artificial bait vs live bait.
Fly Fishing Rods: These rods are commonly known to be used in small streams or rivers, but can truly be used in most bodies of water. These rods are used to drop insect like flies into the water. "The rod acts as a lever to deliver fly line with often delicate presentations to fish on the other end. Fly rods are often much longer than spin or bait-casting rod counterparts with the most common length being 9 feet, but rods going up to 14 feet” - Hikingandfishing.com. Fly fishing is great for feeling the action and power of a fish, seeing the action on your rod when the fish jumps out of the water to eat your fly is quite exciting. These rods are harder to learn, but very fun for catch and release. Spin Cast Rods: Spin cast rods are your most common fishing rod, these rods are known for being able to throw your lures far. Spin cast rods are "best suited for fishing in lakes, rivers, or boats. These rods and reels come in all sizes and are suitable for nearly every fishing situation”-Hikingandfishing.com. Trolling Rods: Big trolling rods are often used on large lakes or more commonly used on the ocean. These rods can reel in huge fish on commercial fishing boats. These rods have a specific type of weight called a down-rigger that bring the lure to a set depth, this is what can help you catch your targeted species.

How a Fishing Reel Works:

Understanding which type of reel you use can also help you find solutions and ways out of sticky situations, especially when the line on your reel gets knotted up.
Types of Fishing Lines and their Applications:

Overview of bait live and artificial: When choosing which type of bait you will be using it is very important to check your provinces Regulation Book. This is a great source of information that will explain what is legal and illegal bait. Some rivers or lakes do prohibit the use of certain baits, so always check the regulations because they are constantly changing! Times that are a great to use live bait are when using bobbers. You can use a grasshopper you found in the wild, or dig in the dirt for some worms! Another great time to use live bait would be during ice fishing, meal-worms, maggots, worms, as well as fish roe for amazing. Depending on the type of fish you have decided to target, do a little research to find out what your targeted species eats. Artificial bait works much differently than live bait. Usually artificial bait mimics the scent or form of live bait. Power bait is a great scent inhancing artificial bait they create many different forms. There are also fake worms or leeches named "Sanko’s” these are not scented most of the time but are a great artificial bait.
